Brush, Floss, Smile | Children’s Dental Health Month 2023
Did you know that February is National Children’s Dental Health Month? That’s right! This month is solely focused on educating your little ones about creating great dental habits in hopes that they will share them with their friends.
As a pediatric dental office, we must promote healthy dental habits to children, their caregivers, teachers, and beyond! We love being able to share joy and make coming to the dentist fun for all of our patients.
Theme for Children’s Dental Health Month 2023
The theme for this year is brush, floss, smile! These three simple steps are easy to remember and fun to learn. Our number one goal for children’s dental health is PREVENTION. We want to teach our patients ways that they can prevent cavities and dental problems before they become adults. Tooth decay is the number one most infectious disease above asthma and obesity. It is our job to bring this number down, knowing that this is preventable!
4 Tips to Help You Get Started With Good Oral Hygiene
- Brush your teeth two times a day with fluoride toothpaste
- Clean and floss between your teeth daily
- Eat healthy foods and limit sugary beverages
- See your dentist at least twice a year
Refer A Friend!
The best way to help prevent tooth decay in children is to spread awareness. Once your child has learned how to care for their teeth properly, tell a friend! Teach them how important the above steps are in a daily hygiene routine.
If your friend does not have a pediatric dentist, invite them to join you at iGrin Pediatric Dentistry! At each appointment, you will have an opportunity to “share a grin” with a friend. When your friend comes in for their dental appointment, you will receive a gift card! How awesome is that! So find a friend at your next baseball game, church event, or dance practice, and tell them all you have learned about creating good oral hygiene habits, and invite them to join you at iGrin!
